.NET and C# has for 15 years been a very Microsoft and Windows centric platform, that has now changed and .NET has with the open sourcing of its tools and compilers gone cross platform with a vengeance. One challenge in a cross platform scenario is how to orchestrate getting your code prerequisites, building, testing and deploying in a coherent way across multiple operating systems and environments – in a maintainable way. Here Mattias has found his hammer – Cake, an open source C# based build system – letting you reuse the skills you already have! The session will be an introductory talk into how to get Cake up and running your cross platform restore, build, test, package and publish process using the C# DSL provided by the tool. With the goal that this taste of Cake – will leave you hungry for more!
Mattias has been working professionally as a developer for almost 20 years, started coding on 8bit computers in the 80s and been passionate about coding since. Today he's a partner and senior architect at WCOM, a Microsoft partner located in Gothenburg, Sweden. Outside work he a father of two, husband of one and contributes actively to the .NET open source community. Most know there for being one of the maintainers behind the open source Cake build system, which is now also part of the .NET foundation.
